About the position

The Regional Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining relationships with key accounts, while ensuring exceptional client experiences and financial profitability. This hybrid role requires a strong focus on new business development, lead qualification, and collaboration with internal teams to create innovative event solutions that meet client goals.

Responsibilities

  • Increase overall sales volume by developing key relationships with new accounts and growing existing assigned accounts.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key accounts while focusing on new business development.
  • Participate in industry-related organizations and local community to develop business and attain leadership status.
  • Qualify leads and develop innovative program strategies to win business and achieve annual sales goals.
  • Collaborate with Experience Designers and Creative Team on proposal vision and program specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections for clients and develop personal rapport.
  • Finalize and close business with clients, arranging for program deposits and signed contracts.
  • Quantify projected budgets from programs and enter into Salesforce for revenue tracking.
  • Manage travel and client marketing budgets and schedules for approval.
  • Initiate sales calls and follow up with clients.
  • Update hoteliers and clients on new venues, services, and destinations.
  • Be available during programs for client contact.
  • Work closely with Business Development to respond to referral leads from hotels and clients.
  • Collaborate with Experience Designers and Event Producers to meet client expectations.
  • Ensure sales and gross profit goals are met and clients' programs exceed expectations.
  • Follow up with clients on future program opportunities and generate leads through the pay it forward program.
  • Stay current on industry trends and developments.
  • Partner with Global Sales team on local market and program opportunities.
  • Implement and execute business and marketing plan for destination.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in sales, specifically in a DMC, incentive travel, event management or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality & Tourism, Business Management, Marketing, Communication, or related degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of client development including new business development, lead follow up, qualifying the client, proposal presentation and closing business.
  • Knowledge of program design and development, from inception through contract.
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals consistently.
  • Ability to provide solutions and/or resources to challenges during program development and sale.
  • Ability to interpret, define and document complex program requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong supplier/partner, hotelier, and community relations.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers/partners on behalf of clients for best locations and terms.
  • Ability to professionally represent PRA at various functions and meetings.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret client proposal requirements, RFPs, contracts, and financial reports.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients and/or suppliers.
  • Ability to prepare reports, write business correspondence, and develop proposals and sales reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and partners.
  • Ability to calculate program costs, percentages, profit margins, and perform other mathematical requirements.
