About the position
The Regional Territory Marketing & Underwriting Consultant will evaluate and underwrite complex risks outside the standard market for an A+ rated Insurance Carrier. This fully remote role involves working closely with brokers and agents to assess, price, and negotiate terms for various E&S insurance products, ensuring a profitable and balanced portfolio while expanding the company's E&S presence across the country.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite complex risks that fall outside the standard market.
- Work closely with brokers and agents to assess, price, and negotiate terms for E&S insurance products.
- Sell and solicit business within the territory to build strong agency relationships.
- Visit brokers and agents to market company products and facilitate submission levels.
- Handle the underwriting processes for primary casualty non-admitted business.
- Analyze and evaluate risks in insurance proposals.
- Approve, decline, modify, negotiate, and price mid-sized and larger accounts to achieve profitability and written premium goals.
- Determine policy terms and calculate premiums based on risk while adhering to company guidelines.
- Utilize underwriting knowledge to educate and train agents on underwriting guidelines and commercial lines products.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with brokers and clients.
- Stay updated with changes in the market and factors affecting risk.
Requirements
- 5 - 10+ years of Commercial Underwriting and/or Marketing experience, particularly in primary casualty lines.
- 3+ years of E&S Underwriting experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong marketing/sales skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's Degree is strongly desired.
