The Regulatory Clinical Auditor will play a key part in identifying, reporting, and driving improvements in processes to maintain compliance with DNV, ISO, and other regulatory standards, including the Department of Health (CMS). The auditor will assist in non-compliance investigations, implement corrective actions, facilitating improvement, providing education and monitor compliance controls to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role will collaborate with San Juan Regional Medical Center's leadership team, Quality Systems, and Medical Staff Services to support compliance and safety initiatives, ensuring a continuous focus on quality and regulatory standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with identifying, reporting, and implementing areas of improvement and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with DNV, ISO and/or other regulatory agencies such as the Department of Health (CMS)
  • Assists with noncompliance investigations and implementing and monitoring compliance controls
  • Conducts auditing functions
  • Disseminates concise information regarding regulations updates and conformity in a professional, understanding manner
  • Maintains knowledge of DNV / CMS / ISO regulations requirements for SJRMC and clinics and understands their connection to clinical care and clinical operations
  • Maintains up-to-date standards and knowledge of regulations/accreditation through review of accurate publications through DNV and CMS websites, workshops/seminars, and participation in professional training
  • Participates as Subject Matter Expert in formal process improvement activities and facilitates a limited portfolio of improvement initiatives
  • Provides education to caregivers and leaders about regulatory requirements
  • Participates in writing policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Collaborates effectively with leadership, providers, and other healthcare staff
  • Collaborates with San Juan Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) leadership team members, Quality Systems and Medical Staff Services to ensure compliance and safety initiatives

Requirements

  • Four (4) year nursing degree (or RN) / or four (4) year clinical degree
  • Two (2) years of healthcare clinical background or equivalent experience in another highly regulated field
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies utilized in healthcare
  • Working knowledge of DNV / ISO / CMS processes and standards
  • Commitment to improvement

  • Good listening, writing and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Proficient project tracking/management skills

Nice-to-haves

  • RN license
  • Experience in formal quality Improvement, including structured abstractions from clinical and operational records
  • Knowledge of adult education theory and practice and the ability to plan, organize and lead educational sessions
  • Ability to assess and to explain data from a broad perspective
  • Knowledge of PC technologies, including operating and application software
