About the position

The Relief Teller Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in assisting First Financial Bank in achieving its vision of satisfying all customers' financial needs and helping them succeed financially. This position is the face of the company in the community, providing a variety of banking services to both customers and non-customers. Relief Teller/CSRs are responsible for handling teller and platform transactions accurately and timely while delivering exceptional customer service. They are expected to introduce and sell new products and services, generating leads for the sales team. The role requires multitasking between the teller line and platform area, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Relief Teller/CSRs are assigned to banking centers based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing and maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Assisting customers with all banking needs.
  • Cross-selling bank products and services to customers.
  • Organizing material and equipment.
  • Analyzing problems and providing solutions in coordination with branch management.
  • Opening new checking, savings, CDs, and loan processing paperwork.
  • May be responsible for closing the branch without other branch management personnel present.
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly branch reports.
  • Assisting branch manager with daily duties as assigned.
  • Receiving checks and cash for deposits, verifying amounts, and entering deposits into the computer.
  • Cashing checks and processing withdrawals.
  • Receiving loans, utility, and miscellaneous payments.
  • Issuing monetary instruments.
  • Handling and balancing cash drawer at end of shift.
  • Recognizing cross-sell or referral opportunities.
  • Demonstrating compliance with all bank regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved training program.
  • Six months' experience in the teller function and sales experience.
  • Computer skills in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and diplomacy.
  • Good understanding of financial products and services.
  • Good organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous or current teller and/or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
