About The Position

The postdoctoral position focuses on the study and re-design of bacterial microcompartments, which are protein-based organelles that help bacteria thrive in nutrient-poor environments. The role involves conducting protein purification, enzyme biochemistry, and both functional and structural characterization, utilizing synthetic biology techniques in vitro and in E. coli. Candidates will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment, contributing to fundamental studies and applications in metabolic engineering and therapeutics.

Requirements

• PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, or a related field.
• Experience with native (untagged) protein purification and enzyme assays.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and high-quality research.
• Experience in overexpression and purification of proteins/enzymes.
• Experience in genetic manipulation of microorganisms.
• Basic working knowledge of bioinformatics tools.
