About the position

UTHealth Houston is Texas' resource for healthcare education, innovation, scientific discovery, and excellence in patient care. As a Research Associate in Otorhinolaryngology, you will play a crucial role in planning, conducting, and directing a wide variety of experiments. You will assist with the day-to-day activities for research projects, which may significantly impact their success. Your responsibilities will include collecting, evaluating, interpreting, and documenting research data to achieve the objectives of various scientific experiments and research projects. You will also influence project direction and outcomes by identifying opportunities to enhance, terminate, or redirect research activities. Additionally, you may recruit study participants or field interviewers, evaluate and interpret data, and provide results to investigators to support publication. Maintaining quality control checks and ensuring a safe environment in compliance with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes will be essential. You will assist in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers, and grant proposals for presentation and publication. Furthermore, you will provide direction and training to lab personnel to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality results in compliance with all protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
  • Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
  • Doctorate degree.
  • Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment.
