About the position

The Research Associate (RA) at Corteva Agriscience will be a key contributor at the Marion research center, supporting various projects through activities such as inventory management, experiment planning, data collection, and field operations including pollination and harvesting. This role requires collaboration with experiment managers and effective communication with various stakeholders, while also ensuring a safe and respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use technology, including iPads and modern software tools to conduct field research experiments
  • Follow specific protocols to collect, analyze and distribute large volumes of data
  • Collaborate with experiment managers to summarize the results of experiments, note problem areas during data collection, and recommend actions
  • Effectively communicate with growers, coworkers, key customers and management
  • Assist with research center projects and research seed production activities, including seed preparation for planting, pollinating, and combine/hand harvest
  • May manage and direct the work of temporary and seasonal employees
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment
  • Provide support for other research projects assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in agriculture or scientific field with 0-4 years of experience in inventory management, agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding or a scientific-related field
  • Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem solving
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
