About The Position

The Research Associate position at BioFire Defense involves supporting analytical studies for regulatory submissions of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. The role focuses on executing and reporting performance studies to ensure products meet design and regulatory specifications. Key tasks include conducting molecular and microbiological experiments, data collection, analysis, and adherence to established protocols and safety regulations. Collaboration and effective communication with team members and supervisors are essential aspects of this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a science or related field.
• Six months of experience in an academic, industry, or healthcare laboratory.
• Knowledge of microbiology and molecular biology principles, tools, and techniques.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory practices, including pipetting and sterile techniques.
• Understanding of basic statistical and concentration calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Execute and report on performance studies for IVD products.
• Conduct molecular and microbiological experiments, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and bacterial culture.
• Collect, analyze, verify, and record data in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and quality systems.
• Collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.
