About the position

As a Research Associate at Labcorp, you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and contributing to the advancement of scientific research. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up and performing a variety of experiments and analyses using both routine and non-routine methods. You will critically review study protocols in your primary area of work and suggest changes where appropriate, ensuring that all study documentation complies with regulatory guidelines. Participation in study meetings, such as pre-initiation meetings, will be essential to maintain clear communication and collaboration with your team. In this position, you will be expected to deliver results within agreed timeframes while being adaptable to changes in priorities. You will routinely support studies outside of your primary area of work and will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to your primary area. Proficiency in department-specific software will be necessary, as you will participate in quality control reviews of selected routine data and methodology sections within reports. Your role will also involve evaluating data for experiment modifications and contributing to report preparation and review. You will participate in method development and validation projects, maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment. Other related duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the Labcorp team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform a variety of experiments and analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods.
  • Critically review study protocol in primary area of work and suggest changes where appropriate.
  • Provide input and participate in study meetings (i.e. pre-initiation meeting).
  • Maintain study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Review own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment.
  • Deliver results within agreed timeframe, whilst recognizing changes in priorities.
  • Routinely support studies in non-primary area of work.
  • Write, review and revise standard SOPs related to primary area of work.
  • Conduct most processes/tasks in support of a broad portfolio of study types.
  • Participate in QC review of selected routine data and methodology section within reports.
  • Prepare results and presentations based on the work performed.
  • Evaluate data for experiment modification and contribute to report preparation/review.
  • Participate in method development and validation projects.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or an equivalent scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a lab working with cell culture, in vitro, and sterile techniques.
  • Experience using standard chemistry lab equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, balances, etc.
  • High resolution mass spec (HRMS) experience is a plus.
  • Additional experience with drug-drug interaction studies, HPLC, and PCR analytical techniques is a plus but not required.
