About the position

We are seeking a Research Engineering Assistant to join our Biomotion Laboratories team, where we focus on advancing orthopedic treatments for musculoskeletal health issues. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about human movement and its impact on well-being. As part of our collaborative team of scientists, engineers, and clinicians, you will engage in cutting-edge research utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Previous experience in biomechanics research and human movement analysis is preferred, but we welcome enthusiastic candidates eager to learn and contribute. In this position, you will work closely with our experts to prepare study participants for data collection, ensuring their comfort and engagement throughout the process. You will be responsible for collecting biomotion data using advanced motion capture systems, wearable sensors, and imaging techniques. Your contributions will extend to biomechanical and imaging data processing, where you will employ specialized software and tools to analyze the data collected. Collaboration is key, as you will support ongoing projects and assist in data processing to extract meaningful insights. Additionally, you will participate in experiment design and execution, bringing your insights and ideas to the table. Maintaining laboratory equipment and fostering a safe working environment will be part of your responsibilities, along with organizing and maintaining detailed records of experimental protocols, data files, and participant information. You will also prepare comprehensive reports and engaging presentations for research meetings and publications, showcasing the findings of your work and contributing to the scientific community.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare study participants for data collection, ensuring a comfortable and engaging experience.
  • Collect biomotion data utilizing motion capture systems, wearable sensors, and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Process biomechanical and imaging data using specialized software and tools.
  • Collaborate with researchers and faculty to support ongoing projects and aid in data processing.
  • Participate in experiment design and execution, contributing insights and ideas.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Organize and maintain detailed records of experimental protocols, data files, and participant information.
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for research meetings and publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering or technical field.
  • Basic working knowledge of engineering or scientific methods.
