We invite you to join our team as a Research Engineering Assistant at the Biomotion Laboratories, where we focus on advancing orthopedic treatments for musculoskeletal health issues. Our collaborative team of scientists, engineers, and clinicians utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to explore human movement and its significant impact on well-being. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about biomechanics research and human movement analysis, although previous experience in these areas is preferred. As a Research Engineering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing study participants for data collection, ensuring they have a comfortable and engaging experience. You will engage in collecting biomotion data using cutting-edge motion capture systems, wearable sensors, and advanced imaging techniques. Your contributions will extend to biomechanical and imaging data processing, where you will employ specialized software and tools to analyze the data collected. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with researchers and faculty to support ongoing projects and aid in data processing to extract meaningful insights. In addition to data collection and processing, you will participate actively in experiment design and execution, contributing your insights and ideas to enhance research outcomes. Maintaining laboratory equipment and fostering a safe, conducive working environment will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to organize and maintain detailed records of experimental protocols, data files, and participant information, as well as prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and engaging presentations for research meetings and publications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare study participants for data collection, ensuring a comfortable and engaging experience.
  • Collect biomotion data utilizing motion capture systems, wearable sensors, and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Contribute to biomechanical and imaging data processing using specialized software and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field.
  • Basic working knowledge of engineering or scientific methods.
