About the position

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Research Engineering Assistant to join the Biomotion Laboratories, a part of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about human movement and its impact on well-being. The Biomotion Laboratories team consists of scientists, engineers, and clinicians who utilize advanced technologies to enhance orthopedic treatments for musculoskeletal health issues. As a Research Engineering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting research efforts by preparing study participants for data collection, ensuring their comfort and engagement throughout the process. In this role, you will engage in the collection of biomotion data using state-of-the-art motion capture systems, wearable sensors, and advanced imaging techniques. You will also contribute to the processing of biomechanical and imaging data, utilizing specialized software and tools to extract meaningful insights. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with researchers and faculty to support ongoing projects and assist in data processing. Your input will be valued in experiment design and execution, allowing you to contribute your insights and ideas to the research process. Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring a safe working environment will be part of your responsibilities, along with organizing and maintaining detailed records of experimental protocols, data files, and participant information. You will also prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and engaging presentations for research meetings and publications, showcasing the findings of your work. Responsibilities

  • Prepare study participants for data collection, ensuring a comfortable and engaging experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field is required.
  • Previous experience in biomechanics research and human movement analysis is preferred.
