About The Position

The Research Project Assistant at Rutgers University will support various research projects within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research (IFH). This role involves subject recruitment, data management, and assisting in the preparation of regulatory documentation and grant proposals. The assistant will work closely with the principal investigator and contribute to the advancement of health and wellness research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field such as psychology, neuropsychology, neuroscience, or public health.
  • Driver's license required for traveling to research participants' homes.
  • At least 2 years of experience conducting or assisting with academic research in a related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of R or Python coding language is preferred.
  • Intermediate statistical knowledge.

  • Experience in manuscript and grant writing.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in subject recruitment and community engagement for research projects.
  • Coordinate study visits and conduct assessments and behavioral interventions.
  • Assist the principal investigator in preparing regulatory documentation for the institutional review board and funding agencies.
  • Train new research staff and students.
  • Provide general administrative support, including ordering supplies and record keeping.
  • Manage and analyze data related to research projects.
  • Perform literature reviews to support research initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant proposals and dissemination of research findings, including conference presentations and manuscript writing.
