About the position

The Research Scientist/Engineer 4 position at the University of Washington's Department of Medicine focuses on biostatistics related to Alzheimer's disease and aging. Responsibilities

  • Prepare analytic datasets from complex data sources.
  • Oversee code review and other quality control for the data manager.
  • Communicate closely with research study personnel regarding changes and updates within the project.
  • Design, conduct, and write up appropriate statistical analyses.
  • Harmonize cognitive data from various research centers, including quality check and cooperative maintenance of the item bank.
  • Perform sophisticated statistical analyses of complex cognitive testing and other psychometric data using structural models.
  • Collaborate with other investigators nationally and internationally on a variety of projects; identifying, developing and applying recent and new methodology.
  • Plan and conduct a wide variety of data analyses, including developing analytic datasets, compiling results files, generating figures, and preparing tables.
  • Write scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals in collaboration with relevant investigators.
  • Conduct preliminary statistical analyses and power calculations for grant proposals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in biostatistics and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and manuscript writing.
