At PayPal, UX Researchers play a crucial role in influencing teams to make customer-centric decisions throughout the product development lifecycle. This process begins with early research aimed at understanding customer needs and problems, and continues through design definition and prototyping, culminating in post-launch research that informs future iterations. Our research employs a variety of qualitative and mixed methods approaches, including card sorting, tree tests, diary studies, surveys, interviews, and both moderated and unmoderated usability testing and concept evaluations. The goal is to start by asking the right questions and end with targeted deliverables and storytelling that bring our stakeholders closer to our customers. As a UX Researcher, you will be the voice of the customer, crafting research programs that provide team members with answers to their most pressing questions and helping to define new research questions and initiatives. The UX Research team at PayPal is dedicated to understanding users and their relationship with our products, particularly focusing on the Small Business Segment. This team is committed to making a positive impact on users and their businesses by translating user needs into actionable insights for design, product, and engineering partners. As a Senior Researcher, you will be responsible for uncovering deep insights that inform the creation of user-centered experiences, building trust and security into our products, and contributing to a positive brand experience for our target audience. Your strong communication and collaboration skills will be essential for effectively sharing your findings and influencing stakeholders in the design process. In your day-to-day activities, you will proactively identify research opportunities that drive product and design strategy, scope project requirements, and communicate the value of UX research to stakeholders. You will independently execute research studies from beginning to end, including identifying the right research questions, defining participant samples, choosing methodologies, designing studies, and executing them with attention to detail and quality. Presenting compelling insights and recommendations to multiple teams and leaders across the organization will be a key part of your role, as will acting as a liaison between design, product management, and marketing teams to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
