About the position

Responsible for meeting education goals and objectives for year 1 (internship) residency program as defined within specialty requirements. Actively participates in the care of patients and progressively assumes greater responsibility as the program advances. Acquires knowledge and special skills of the specific discipline. Adheres to quality and safety standards in the delivery of patient care services. Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanentes Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licensing requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Complete goals and objectives for the first-year residency program.
  • Participate actively with patient care.
  • Assume increased responsibilities commensurate with increased training and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Must have applied and matched to KPHI residency program through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) or have been selected for an unfilled position after the match.
  • Enrolled in a medical school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), a college of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or equivalent Foreign Medical University.
  • Have obtained medical degree (MD, DO) or equivalent (MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) by July 1st of intern year.
  • Physician Resident License (Hawaii).
  • Have submitted application for Hawaii State Limited/Temporary License - Residency/Specialty Training to the Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Residency Program.
