About the position

The Resident Instructional Coach at AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School is an entry-level position designed to prepare individuals for a full instructional coaching role. This position involves working closely with a Mentor Instructional Coach to develop coaching skills, provide in-class support, and implement the Every Child Ready instructional model. The Resident Coach will engage in professional learning, collaborate with instructional leaders, and utilize data to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Mentor Instructional Coach to fulfill professional learning and coaching requirements.
  • Adhere to the Every Child Ready Professional Learning Scope and Sequence for effective implementation.
  • Differentiate coaching based on data to meet the unique needs of classrooms and teachers.
  • Support instructional leadership in collaborative instructional planning using various data sources.
  • Implement ongoing in-class coaching and workshops to improve instructional quality.
  • Develop expertise in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) for effective classroom observations and feedback.
  • Assist teachers in implementing the Every Child Ready assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Collect and analyze classroom data to inform instructional practices and decision-making.
  • Document coaching activities and maintain accurate records of in-classroom support experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, curriculum and instruction, or a closely related field.
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing the Response to Intervention model.
  • Two to three years of experience with coaching or facilitating learning for adults, preferably in classroom-based instructional coaching.
  • Three years of successful professional teaching experience required, five years preferred.
  • Technological proficiency in GSuite, Asana, Canvas, Microsoft Office, or willingness to learn new technology platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple campuses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the Every Child Ready instructional model.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making processes in education.
