About the position

We are currently recruiting for a talented, resourceful, and passionate Resident Services Coordinator that will serve Senior and Disabled Public Housing residents in the Southwest Region of King County, specifically in the White Center and surrounding areas. This assignment will also include a property in Olympia, WA. Some remote work may be authorized after the initial introductory period. Under the general supervision of the Resident Services Manager, the Resident Services Coordinator will work with residents and act as a liaison between residents, KCHA Property Management and local service agencies. The goal of this position is to assist residents by providing residents information and referrals to community resources, fostering community engagement and supporting resident stability and independence. The successful candidate will provide resource and referral services to Mixed Population (senior/disabled) Public Housing residents and will coordinate community building events and activities to promote resident engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Work with KCHA staff and Public Housing participants to support resident stability.
  • Assess resident needs and provide information about and referrals to social services; provide information and connect participants to programs and services that will help participants achieve their goals; help residents apply for and maintain social services and entitlements.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community partners to ensure residents have access to information, services, and assistance for which they qualify, act as a liaison between local community governmental agencies, community councils, individuals and residents.
  • Coordinate, plan, and implement community events (e.g., summer BBQ, resource fairs, community network meetings and learning workshops), as KCHA policy allows.
  • Meet with residents to discuss their situation and help problem solve; assist residents in identifying and resolving challenges and issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the program initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission.
  • Use data tracking software/systems (OnBase, ETO, TenMast and Yardi) to input participant data on a regular basis; access data and verify accuracy of data on a regular basis.
  • Complete all required paperwork, documentation and maintain participant files per department standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with degrees preferred in social work, human services, public administration or related field.
  • Considerable experience in social work, housing programs and/or community development programming.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Geriatric and Aging and Disability experience is a plus.
