About the position
Spero is a multi-faceted social service agency that offers more than 10 programs to individuals, children, and families across the region. Our mission here at Spero is to offer hope, help and healing by providing Christ-centered human services to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, families and communities. Our Residential Treatment Programs provide intensive treatment to youth ages 12-21 to address their trauma. Youth in these programs reside on our campus and receive services from a multidisciplinary treatment team with the goal of stepping down to a less restrictive environment. As the Medical Services Coordinator you will provide support to the Nurse in overseeing the medical needs of the youth in our Residential Treatment programs and ensuring compliance with governing standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nurse with various administrative tasks including filing, client consents, and scheduling appointments.
- Participate in staffings when the Nurse is unavailable.
- Transport clients to appointments.
- Assist with completing all required documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain client medical files and document interactions with youth.
- Manage data related to client care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license.
- LPN and 1 year of experience in 24/7 care or child welfare preferred.
- Must be organized and able to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
- Strength/mobility needed to perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
- Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances.
- Must maintain driving clearances.
- Ability to lift/carry items weighing at least 15-30 lbs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
