About the position

As a Resort Maintenance Technician at Sun Communities, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the physical integrity of our resorts. Your primary responsibilities will include performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure that all facilities, grounds, and utility systems are in excellent condition. You will be expected to conduct building maintenance repairs, maintain cleanliness, and uphold the overall appearance of the property. Providing exceptional customer service to both prospective and current guests and residents is a key aspect of this role, as you will assist with site setups to facilitate timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents. Your daily duties will involve a variety of tasks, including emptying trash, shoveling, and performing maintenance or repair duties using power equipment, drills, and other hand tools. You will be responsible for completing minor repairs to rental units and facilities, as well as conducting routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs related to plumbing, sewage, construction, and street repair. Regular inspections of the irrigation system, playground areas, pool/spa facilities, and other recreational amenities will be part of your responsibilities to ensure everything is functioning properly and in good condition. Maintaining the resort's curb appeal is essential, and you will be expected to perform lawn care services such as treating for weeds, raking leaves, planting flowers and shrubs, and trimming hedges. You will also ensure that trash and debris are picked up daily from common areas and streets, and that resort amenities, including clubhouses and restrooms, are kept clean. In winter months, you may be required to remove snow from community streets and other areas, utilizing trucks with plows or other snow removal equipment. Additionally, you will inspect tied down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for cleanliness and damage, complete checklists of the physical condition of resort sites, and assist the Resort Manager with supervising service contractors. Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring that all resort streets and public access routes are free of hazards will be part of your daily routine. You will also maintain resort pool(s), test chemical levels, and adjust them as necessary, while following safety procedures during all tasks. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed.
