About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports. We are currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Full Time-Days). Our ideal candidate will fulfill the needs of the patients, families, and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. The Respiratory Therapist will maintain and stock respiratory equipment and ensure ventilator and life support equipment are operable.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program
  • Licensed by the District of Columbia Health Regulation
  • Licensed as a RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC
  • BLS required
  • A minimum of 1-year full time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting
