The position involves utilizing respiratory equipment in various modalities, including medical gases such as oxygen and aerosol treatments, according to physician orders or protocols to meet patient respiratory needs. Responsibilities include performing Pulmonary Function Tests, 6-minute walks, and Home Sleep Studies. The role also requires calibration, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, as well as preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary tests such as taking height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and O2 levels. Additionally, the position involves verifying patient information, maintaining inventory of supplies, scheduling appointments, and managing in-basket messages. The individual will also complete release of information requests, maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, and interact with vendors, staff, physicians, and visitors in a professional manner. General office duties such as completing insurance forms and scanning documents into the EMR system may also be required. The role includes acting as a chaperone when requested, performing related work assignments, attending office meetings, staying informed of changes in the healthcare industry, and complying with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
