O-Ku Atlanta provides a fresh and innovative take on traditional Japanese sushi and cuisine. Led by executive chef Masatomo Hamaya, O-Ku’s menu is comprised of signature starters, contemporary Japanese entrees and seasonal traditional sushi that reflect the uniquely designed space. The West Midtown restaurant offers rare and unique dining options along with traditional sashimi and specialty rolls, sourcing seafood from the finest fish markets in Tokyo and Hawaii alongside local and seasonal ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Lead with passion and inspire your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Nurture staff development and create a positive, high-performing culture.
- Engage with local vendors and farms to source the highest quality products.
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Become an integral part of the Greenville community, participating in volunteer and charitable initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of successful restaurant management.
- Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic mindset with an excellent record of restaurant management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow leaders, managers, employees, and all guests.
- Strong problem management skills with accuracy in quickly handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays [about 55 to 60 hours a week].
- Ability to constantly stand and walk with occasional stooping, kneeling, ascending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in high-volume, upscale dining environments (200-300 covers).
- Focus on Japanese cuisine.
- Passion for food and beverage with a keen eye for quality and commitment to sourcing the best local ingredients.
- Strong communicator and problem-solver, capable of navigating challenges and driving results.
- Eager to engage with the Greenville community, building relationships with local vendors, businesses, and farms.
