About the position

The Retail District Manager for the New Orleans Market at Cash America Pawn is responsible for overseeing multiple retail locations, developing and coaching Store Managers, and ensuring that financial results meet or exceed company plans. This role involves facilitating communication between the Regional Manager and Store Managers, executing company initiatives, and driving performance across the district. The position requires frequent travel to various store locations and a strong focus on leadership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise six to eight Store Managers and coach them to effectively manage their teams.
  • Develop business partner relationships with the Regional Manager, HR Business Partner, and Corporate personnel.
  • Build leadership talent throughout the district by providing opportunities for high-level performers.
  • Recruit proactively to improve the overall talent level within the district.
  • Ensure effective execution of new company initiatives and policies.
  • Review district and store performance reports and coach Store Managers on trends or issues.
  • Ensure good financial results and profitability through customer service and operations fundamentals.
  • Balance monitoring store performance with onsite coaching and development of store personnel.
  • Focus on key competitors and growth opportunities within the district and communicate findings to the Regional Manager.
  • Empower Store Managers to be decision-makers while maintaining consistency with company strategies.
  • Manage district staffing and personnel movements to improve performance.
  • Build goodwill and relationships within the communities served.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation for frequent travel.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports and manage budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to coach and develop others.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management or pawn industry.
  • Knowledge of financial report interpretation and budgeting.
