About the position

The Retail Operations Specialist at Rivian is a key role focused on enhancing retail operations to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. This position involves developing operational frameworks, maintaining best practices, and coordinating across various teams to support retail growth and scalability. The specialist will also manage processes related to vehicle fleet management, training, and store openings, ensuring alignment with Rivian's core values and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the operational framework, best practices, resources and tools necessary to deliver the best experience possible to our customers, support retail growth, create scalability and achieve future goals
  • Develop and maintain the Retail Playbook for all commercial sales typologies
  • Identify & solve for market and location specific operational constraints and develop processes to support compliance
  • Partner with internal comms and regional field leaders to maintain a field communications platform, ensuring field teams stay connected with the business and our team
  • Build and manage organizational processes to streamline communication and workflows across Retail teams and additional stakeholders, serving as a key point of integration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with leadership to refine processes to support sales and operations
  • Responsible for the retail fleet vehicle management, acting as the primary point of contact with Fleet team, communicating retail vehicle strategy and needs
  • Own coordinating delivery schedules and load in/out with Fleet and Facilities teams across all retail locations
  • Responsible for CMF asset ordering, management and maintenance to ensure field teams have the tools to support sales
  • Support day-to-day Retail Operations and project manage special projects as needed
  • Partner with EHS, HR, Facilities, Policy and Legal teams to develop policies, procedures and training methods for all retail locations
  • Partner with Learning and Development to create a scalable training plan for field teams
  • Support the retail store opening process, including turnover from Facilities, store operations readiness, and coordination with key cross-functional partners
  • Support the Retail Operations team in meeting or exceeding deliverables and goals through alignment on process, timelines, dependencies, individual accountability, and responsibilities
  • Support the coordination of weekly status meetings and updates and manage project tracking for all retail projects
  • Maintain overall timelines for Retail Operations initiatives and track and communicate workback schedules of initiatives
  • Support various special events across the commercial organization as needed
  • Support our site audit process to ensure our sites are operating consistently and efficiently
  • Support all areas of retail operations as needed, including digital tools, fleet management and maintenance, site assets
  • Support the retail operations digital systems liaison/UX expert and implement, rollout, and work with digital tech, IT partners and system providers for all store level technologies
  • Build and foster a strong workplace culture focused on a positive team experience and over-delivering for our customers

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in retail operations or retail project/program management
  • New store opening support or project/program management experience is a plus
  • Energy, creativity, and leadership with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive when juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing timelines
  • Deep curiosity for next generation retail formats and consumer experiences
  • An obsessive approach to elevating the customer experience
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and apply a scrappy and resourceful approach to problem-solving
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements across all areas supported
  • Working knowledge of retail systems: POS, inventory management systems, and CRM
  • Working knowledge of project management processes, tools, and software
  • Ability to analyze data and report actionable findings
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 20% of the time)
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and exceptional driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable
