About the position

The Retail Parts Pro position is a professional-level sales role that plays a crucial part in supporting the advanced functions of the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) automotive business. This role requires an expert understanding of store systems, advanced automotive systems, and extensive knowledge of automotive parts. The Retail Parts Pro is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their automotive needs, and ensuring that the store meets high standards of appearance and service. This position is full-time and involves a variety of responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the store and the satisfaction of DIY customers. In this role, the Retail Parts Pro will engage with customers both in-store and over the phone, providing a GAS2 selling experience that focuses on understanding customer needs and delivering solutions. Achieving personal and store sales goals is a key objective, along with managing various DIY services such as battery installations, testing, and wiper installations. The Retail Parts Pro will also take on key holder responsibilities, which include task assignment, safety protocols, and opening and closing the store. Additionally, the Retail Parts Pro will assist in inventory management processes, ensuring that stock is organized and readily available for customers. Maintaining store cleanliness and appearance is also part of the job, which includes tasks such as cleaning floors, bathrooms, and the parking lot. The role requires a friendly demeanor and effective communication skills to build strong relationships with customers and team members. The Retail Parts Pro must also possess advanced knowledge of automotive systems and parts, as well as the ability to operate various store equipment and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance standards
  • Key holder responsibilities including task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties
  • Assist in store inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of store systems and advanced automotive system knowledge
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and assist with projects for DIY customers
  • In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Proven sales ability and experience in customer transactions
  • Valid driver's license
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required

Nice-to-haves

  • ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft software (Word, Excel)
