About the position

The Retail People Operations Manager at Ritual Coffee is a leadership role focused on enhancing employee experience and fostering a thriving workplace culture. This position requires a compassionate and emotionally intelligent leader who can build effective teams, implement strategies for business growth, and promote diversity and inclusion. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, feedback, and collaboration, with a strong appreciation for coffee and people.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall culture of creating a safe, productive, and fulfilling work environment.
• Facilitate 1:1 supervision and give and receive peer feedback to enhance workplace culture.
• Work with the leadership team to evolve and implement standards for culture, values, quality, and customer service.
• Lead and develop the Retail Team, supervising 4 Cafe Managers and overseeing 30-50 retail employees.
• Anticipate hiring needs and oversee all retail hiring processes, including job postings and candidate management.
• Collaborate in creating an orientation process for new hires and oversee their onboarding.
• Provide ongoing training and mentorship for managers, including DEI initiatives and harassment prevention.
• Conduct bi-annual reviews and address staff morale issues.
• Coordinate exit processes for departing employees to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

• 2-5 years experience managing people, preferably in the foodservice industry.
• Proven experience building healthy and inclusive diverse teams.
• Skilled at soliciting and implementing feedback to improve performance.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.
• Proficiency with Google Drive and general comfort with technology.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
