Retail Sales Associate

About the position

Vance Outdoors is seeking a Sales Associate to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for assisting customers in their purchase of company products and services. The Sales Associate will handle all aspects of customer service, assist with inventory management, and promote a positive culture within the store. The role requires working some evenings and one weekend day, and candidates must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Handles all aspects of customer service for internal and external customers.
• Communicates customer and employee issues to management.
• Assists with inventory management between the warehouse and sales floor.
• Promotes a positive culture within the department/store.
• Ensures a positive shopping experience for customers.
• Handles inbound calls and provides required paperwork following ATF guidelines.
• Quotes prices and describes features of product items.
• Stocks products on the sales floor and maintains cleanliness of work areas.
• Enforces safety, health, and security rules.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively.
• Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
