Sol's Jewelry and Loan is seeking a results-driven Retail Sales Associate to join our team in Omaha, NE. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for all sales-related duties, working collaboratively with your team to meet department and store objectives while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service. In this role, you will greet customers and enhance their engagement with merchandise by answering questions and providing outstanding customer service. Actively seeking out customers in-store, you will work closely with them to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build trusting relationships that lead to repeat business. It is essential to remain knowledgeable about Sol's products to offer information, demonstrate features, answer questions, and recommend the right solutions to our customers. You will continually grow your expertise on the products offered and understand appropriate pricing ranges for items coming in on loan and going out for sale. Your responsibilities will also include cross-selling products, teaming up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring maximum client satisfaction. You will handle returns of merchandise, operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions. Additionally, you will assist in achieving the store's sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, suggesting ways to improve sales through planning marketing activities or changing the store's layout. You will receive merchandise, keep the selling floor stocked, arrange displays to engage customers, comply with inventory control procedures, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the store area. Answering the phone in a timely and professional manner is also part of your duties, along with adhering to all safety policies and practices set by Sol's Jewelry and Loan.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and improve customer engagement with merchandise by answering their questions and providing outstanding customer service.
- Actively seek out customers in store.
- Work closely with customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build a trust relationship that results in building a clientele base with repeat business.
- Remain knowledgeable about Sol's products to offer information, demonstrate features, answer questions, and be able to recommend the right solutions to our customers.
- Continually grow expertise on products offered and appropriate pricing ranges for product coming in on loan and going out for sale.
- Cross sell products.
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction.
- Handle returns of merchandise.
- Operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions.
- Follow and assist in achieving store's sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store's layout).
- Receive merchandise including unloading/unpacking it and marking it with codes to be identified.
- Keep the selling floor stocked with merchandise and arrange displays that keep the customers engaged.
- Comply with inventory control procedures.
- Maintain the store area ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Assist with answering the phone in a timely, professional manner.
- Adhere to all Sol's Jewelry and Loan safety policies and practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build rapport with customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
