About the position

The Site General Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations of a designated travel center. This position involves coaching and leading the management team to ensure the location operates successfully and profitably. The Site General Manager is tasked with establishing goals related to profitability, safety, and service quality, while also fostering a strong team environment and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the management team and overall operations of the designated location.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor with high character, honesty, and integrity.
  • Establish and be responsible for goals to meet company objectives related to people, profit, safety, quality of service, and appearance of the locations.
  • Coach, teach, and demonstrate sound customer service principles to all team members.
  • Partner with Profit Center Managers and Talent Acquisition to identify management level talent.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure programs are implemented to ensure the safety of customers and team members.
  • Assess performance of PCMs, complete appraisals of direct reports, and recommend for advancement.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and develop ways to reduce reoccurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Complete and submit reports, personnel records, and time sheets accurately and timely.
  • Supervise the total function of a travel center operating multiple profit centers.
  • Safeguard Company property, equipment, funds, and merchandise.
  • Control operating expenses within established budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour obligations.
  • Develop programs that recognize outstanding customer service by team members.
  • Work with the District Manager to develop succession plans for departments.
  • Forecast total site results and achieve budgeted site EBITDA.
  • Complete lead certification requirements related to restaurant brands managed.
  • Ensure all required training is completed within the required time frame.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred with proven positive results.
  • Proficient planning and analytical skills, including understanding P&L calculations.
  • Ability to perform all non-management functions to assist when needed.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Operational understanding of POS software.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with appropriate insurance coverage.
