About The Position

The Retail Supervisor at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin & Metropolitan Chicago plays a crucial role in leading retail stores and donation sites to achieve operational goals. This position involves managing store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and developing associates to create a customer-centric environment. The supervisor is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing register efficiency, and achieving daily production goals while supporting the mission of providing training and employment for individuals with disabilities or disadvantages.

Requirements

  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to complete and retain forklift certification, if required at the site.
  • Work varied schedule and flexible hours, including a minimum of two closing shifts per week and every other weekend.
  • Must have a working phone that allows for communication accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store, ensuring all operations are conducted smoothly.
  • Manage register efficiency and achieve daily production goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop associates.
  • Train, motivate, and lead associates to create a customer-centric environment.
  • Plan and manage work to complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments.
  • Solve problems of moderate to advanced complexity and identify root causes.
  • Champion community engagement initiatives and serve as an ambassador for Goodwill.
  • Maximize the value of donated goods and maintain production and store environment standards.
  • Coordinate the rotation of goods in the store to ensure a continuous flow of new merchandise.
  • Support the training and coaching of employees to reach their potential.
  • Assist with the hiring process, including phone screens and interviews.
  • Function as a service experience leader, operating the register and maintaining efficient customer flow.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, ensuring safe equipment operation.
  • Conduct apprehensions following established loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete data entry of required reports on time and share insights with leadership.
  • Communicate and implement policies and procedures, reporting concerns to leadership.
  • Plan and organize work assignments to increase customer service and protect assets.
