About the position

Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, fabricates, integrates and tests RF and millimeter wave subsystems. Work closely with scientists and engineers to provide support in developing state of the art RF subsystems for communication, radar and sensing applications. Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, participating in proposal activities and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technical expertise to design, fabricate, integrate and test RF and millimeter wave subsystems.
• Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop RF subsystems for communication, radar and sensing applications.
• Solve customer problems and write invention disclosures.
• Publish papers and brief customers on technical matters.
• Participate in proposal activities and assist in marketing HRL expertise.

Requirements

• Some experience with circuit design and embedded systems programming.
• Experience with different families of FPGAs, DSPs, or microcontrollers.
• Working familiarity with C/C++, Python, and MATLAB.
• Understanding of basic circuit theory, electromagnetics, and digital signal processing.
• Ability to write test and control software for complex and varied systems.
• Familiarity with RF and high speed digital test equipment.
• Working knowledge of RF components communication and radar systems is a plus.
• Ability to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
• Ability to operate complex electronic equipment and perform detailed analyses of integrated circuits.
• Ability to prepare written and oral presentations.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Specialized coursework in radar, communications, antennas, and/or VHDL.
