About the position

Spartanburg Medical Center (SMC), located in Spartanburg, SC, is actively seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Rheumatologist to join our well-established practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide both primary and consultative rheumatology care to a diverse five-region area in Spartanburg, South Carolina. As a part of SMC, which is recognized as a Trauma Center and a tertiary referral center, you will be working in a community teaching hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to the Upstate of South Carolina. The Rheumatologist will benefit from a well-established referral base from primary care providers, ensuring a steady stream of patients. The position includes easy access to an infusion center and support from mid-level providers, allowing for a collaborative and efficient work environment. The call responsibilities are manageable, with limited inpatient consults, providing a balanced work-life dynamic. In addition to a competitive salary, the position offers an exceptional compensation package that includes a generous starting salary, additional incentives for productivity and engagement, a $6,000 CME allowance, and up to $100,000 in recruitment incentives. Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and consultative rheumatology care to patients in a five-region area.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize the infusion center for patient treatments as needed.
  • Support mid-level providers in delivering care and managing patient loads.
  • Participate in call duties with limited inpatient consults.
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship opportunities for medical staff and students.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
  • Ability to provide high-quality patient care in a community hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and patients.
