The Risk Administrator (Construction Services) at Span Construction & Engineering, Inc. is responsible for managing risk management processes throughout the project life cycle. This role involves ensuring compliance with contract terms, supporting the company's risk management and insurance objectives, and collaborating with various departments to protect company assets and minimize liability. The position emphasizes safety, strategic risk administration, and effective communication with stakeholders.

  • Identify and convey risk to management with suggested resolution and mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate risk management information to all stakeholders.
  • Provide insurance information on new projects.
  • Follow up on contract executions and required paperwork.
  • Ensure timely and accurate project closeout processes.
  • Work with Accounting on risk submission and coordination.
  • Manage subcontracts on all projects.
  • Provide advice and guidance for risk management administration consistent with company policies.
  • Stay proactive on budget, schedule, document management, and procurement matters.
  • Escalate critical issues to management with recommendations for resolution.
  • Review insurance requirements and identify coverage issues for the company and subcontractors.
  • Calculate insurance rates based on billing.
  • Track down issues with customer and subcontractor insurance.
  • Ensure proper job closeout from an insurance standpoint.
  • Establish and follow pre-qualification processes for projects.
  • Maintain all applicable licenses and registrations.
  • Follow legal default remedies and ensure compliance with state or county laws.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and/or paralegal certificate desirable.
  • 5 years related experience in contract administration, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficient with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contracting practices.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Full-time position with competitive hourly wage of $33 - $34 per hour.
