About the position

The Risk Manager and Facility Compliance Officer is responsible for directing and maintaining the hospital's risk management and compliance program. This role involves coordinating, implementing, and directing the Risk Management Program to ensure patient safety, minimize losses from identifiable risks, and prevent claims against the hospital. The position also includes oversight of the Patient Safety Program and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and maintain the hospital's risk management and compliance program.
  • Coordinate and implement the Risk Management Program to ensure patient safety.
  • Minimize and prevent claims of general and professional liability against the hospital.
  • Assist in directing the Patient Safety Program, including systems analysis to improve patient safety.
  • Conduct educational programs based on identified needs and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee training, auditing, monitoring, and investigations as the Facility Compliance Officer.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Risk Management experience in an acute care facility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of TJC, State Licensure, and CMS regulations.
  • Knowledge of malpractice and claims prevention/management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a combination of Nursing/Business Administration or other acceptable degree (or actively pursuing course of study).
  • Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
