About the position

The RN position in the 1H adult critical care unit at Blodgett Hospital involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those with complex medical and surgical conditions. The unit is equipped with 22 beds and caters to a variety of diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and respiratory failure. As a member of the 1H team, you will engage in various ICU-level care practices, gaining valuable experience with advanced medical technologies and treatment protocols, including ventilators, sedation, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and post-cardiac arrest cooling. The collaborative environment encourages learning and professional growth, with a team comprising nurses of varying experience levels who are eager to teach and support new staff members. In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients, ensuring that care is patient-family centered. You will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and adhere to Corewell Health policies and procedures, recognizing the importance of nursing care and patient/family partnerships in achieving positive patient outcomes. Your responsibilities will also include developing teaching strategies for patients and their families, documenting educational efforts in health records, and actively participating in interdisciplinary collaboration with providers, respiratory care, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social work to meet all patient needs. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred
