About the position

The RN position in the Medical Unit at Logan Health is a full-time role that provides primary care to patients, focusing on assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. The RN will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process. This role requires a commitment to maintaining nursing standards of care while responding to changing workloads and patient conditions. The RN will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and will be expected to remain calm and make objective assessments in high-pressure situations. In this position, the RN will transcribe and implement provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently, demonstrating a thorough understanding of infection control procedures. The RN will also be responsible for documenting all patient encounters according to organizational standards and providing individual instruction and education to patients and families regarding health and medical needs. The role requires excellent organizational skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to function both independently and as part of a team. The RN will need to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and diplomacy, ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws, including HIPAA guidelines. The position operates on a night shift schedule of 12 hours, and the RN will be expected to maintain regular attendance as scheduled by department leadership. Logan Health operates 24/7, and schedules may be adjusted based on patient care and organizational needs. All job offers are contingent upon passing a pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, reference checks, drug screening, health and immunizations screening, and a physical demand review.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
  • Maintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions by remaining calm and making objective assessments.
  • Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Exhibits thorough practice of infection control procedures as applicable to the assigned area(s).
  • Identifies, evaluates, and reports changes in the physical and mental conditions of patients.
  • Documents all encounters with patients seeking health advice according to organizational standards.
  • Provides individual instruction and education to patients and families concerning health and medical needs.
  • Assesses and anticipates the needs of the patient and coordinates necessary interventions as defined by policy and provider orders.
  • Consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar position within a medical setting (e.g., physician office, clinic, or hospital).
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of professional nursing practice.
  • Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR and/or BLS certification required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws governing the provider-patient relationship, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and possess critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Possess and maintain computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
