PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Per Diem/Relief position in the Medical department at United General Hospital. This role is designed for a professional nurse who will provide direct patient care in compliance with established professional practice and unit standards. The RN will promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team. The position is variable with a 0.00 FTE, meaning that the hours worked will vary based on the needs of the hospital and the availability of the nurse. The salary range for this position is between $40.10 and $74.26 per hour, depending on various factors such as education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. In this role, the RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs. Documentation of patient care in the healthcare record must adhere to established standards. The RN will also direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence. Continuous professional development and education are essential to ensure the RN's effectiveness in their role. Additionally, the RN will participate in the development and maintenance of established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as safety and infection prevention programs. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This position requires a degree from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. A minimum of one year of acute care experience with patients requiring complex medical care is required, although non-RN related medical/surgical work experience may be considered. The RN must hold a valid Registered Nurse credential and be certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification is preferred and must be obtained within a specified grace period from hire or transfer. The RN should possess demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development, as well as the ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships in a patient/family-centered work environment.
