Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and ensure their comfort and readiness for surgery.
  • Assist patients in changing into surgical gowns and prepare them for procedures.
  • Start intravenous (IV) lines and administer pre-procedure medications as ordered.
  • Complete pre-operative assessments, including obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information accurately.
  • Obtain surgical consent from patients and ensure all required signatures are obtained and witnessed.
  • Collaborate with OR nursing staff, anesthesia providers, and patient liaisons to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care principles in all nursing activities.
  • Adhere to Service Excellence standards at all times, ensuring a positive experience for patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of commitment, with the ability to sustain employment for a minimum of two years.
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • ACLS certification (or obtained within three months of employment).
  • BLS certification.
  • Current state nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
  • Preferably five years of experience in acute care or pre-operative setting, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated track record of commitment, with the ability to sustain employment for a minimum of two years.
