We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Frisbie Memorial Hospital which is a part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Location: Gilford, NH. Schedule: Full Time Days, 40 hours per week, either 7:30a-4p or 8a-4:30p, Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing and maintains the highest quality of comprehensive patient care.
  • Displays effective communication skills as evidenced by the ability to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians and staff.
  • Is able to set limits as needed by recognizing potential behavior problems and does so in a caring, consistent, and non-punitive manner.
  • Consistently documents in the medical record all pertinent clinical information on a daily basis and as set forth in policy and procedure manual.
  • Utilizes the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
  • Participates in the initiation of master treatment plan along with other key program staff.
  • Attends treatment planning meetings and conferences to participate in patient's treatment process and progress.
  • Participates in discharge planning and referrals.
  • Administers prescribed treatment and medications correctly.
  • Conducts patient groups as evidenced by documentation in patient's medical record.
  • Assumes supervision of nursing staff when directed by Nurse Manager.
  • Demonstrates skills in admission, discharge and transfer of patients.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with New Hampshire license or Compact License when applicable.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing and ANCC Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing preferred.
