About The Position

The Air Critical Care Transport Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for providing safe, quality emergency medical and nursing care during patient transport. This role is integral to the patient care delivery team, collaborating with flight caregivers to ensure high standards of care for critically ill or injured patients in acute care and scene flight environments. The nurse is accountable for ongoing monitoring and care management during transport, adhering to regulatory requirements and maintaining professional development.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • 3-5 years of critical care nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio and Michigan.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with the critical care team.
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage exposure to various environmental factors and remain functional in a moving vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • 5 years or more of critical care nursing experience.
  • Certifications: CEN, CFRN and/or CTRN, ATLS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and quality emergency medical and nursing care during patient transport.
  • Collaborate with flight caregivers to facilitate patient transports.
  • Document treatment interventions, assessments, and medications accurately.
  • Perform equipment checks and maintain transport readiness each shift.
  • Stabilize patients' needs at transferring medical facilities and during scene flights.
  • Comply with regulatory agency requirements and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate skill competency in technical procedures and treatments for patients.
  • Lead and support the values of ProMedica Health System and Metro Health.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
