About the position

The Cold Mill Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of a 24/7 Roll Shop that provides services to a steel mill. This role encompasses safety, hiring, training, quality control, and production management, with a focus on profitability through effective production, quality, and inventory control. The manager will also develop and execute strategic plans for the facility while ensuring compliance with financial expectations and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant and departmental operations including safety, quality, HR, sales, and production.
• Responsible for overall financial expectations and plant compliance.
• Review production costs and product quality, modifying production and inventory control programs as necessary.
• Develop, execute, and maintain a strategic plan for the facility.
• Supervise employees in the Shop Operations Department, including hiring, training, and performance appraisal.
• Address complaints and resolve problems within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
• Ten (10) years' relevant work experience in a manufacturing/roll shop environment preferred.
• 5+ years of management experience in mid-level operations management or above.
• Demonstrated knowledge of precision machining equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and financial reports.
• Proficiency in data entry, ERP systems, spreadsheet and word processing software, and project management software.
