About the position
As a Rooftop Loader at SRS Distribution Inc., you will play a crucial role in supporting the Driver at the Branch by loading the truck with roofing materials and accompanying the Driver to the job site. Your primary responsibility will be to unload building materials safely and efficiently onto the roofs of various buildings, ensuring that the needs of the Roofing Contractors and the homeowners' property are met with utmost care. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the roofing industry, learn about new equipment, and understand the business operations of a leading roofing distributor. The role is physically demanding, requiring you to lift heavy materials, sometimes up to 100 lbs, repeatedly throughout the day. You will be working at heights, so a comfort level with being on roofs is essential. Basic math skills will be necessary for inventory counts, and you should possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively read purchase orders and collaborate with team members. While prior experience in the roofing industry is a plus, it is not mandatory. Reliability, safety awareness, and a team-oriented mindset are key attributes we seek in candidates. This position typically requires working Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime during peak seasons. Responsibilities
- Load roofing materials onto the truck at the Branch.
- Accompany the Driver to the job site for unloading materials.
- Safely and efficiently unload building materials onto roofs.
- Pay attention to the needs of Roofing Contractors and homeowners' property during unloading.
- Perform inventory counts using basic math skills.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding job tasks.
Requirements
- Experience in a physically demanding, labor-intensive position.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs properly and repeatedly on a daily basis.
- Comfortable working on roofs and not afraid of heights.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts.
