About the position

The Route/Switch Network Engineer will support a major healthcare organization within the Department of Defense by providing critical network engineering services. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions, with a focus on routing and switching technologies, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with DoD standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions, focusing on routing and switching technologies.
• Configure and maintain network devices, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
• Conduct network assessments to inventory, evaluate, and recommend upgrades or replacements for existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to establish network baselines and ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Ensure network security and compliance with DoD standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
• Proven experience in network design, implementation, and management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with iOS XR is a plus.
