About the position

Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking a dynamic Safety & Risk Management Specialist who is passionate about protecting people, minimizing risks, and making a difference. This role involves leading the charge in building safer worksites and fostering a culture where safety is second nature. The position requires designing and implementing cutting-edge safety policies that align with OSHA regulations and industry standards, conducting frequent job site audits, facilitating training sessions, analyzing incidents, and developing emergency response plans. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating safer, more efficient worksites while working with a team that values their impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cutting-edge safety policies that align with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct frequent job site audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and lead proactive safety improvements.
  • Facilitate engaging training sessions on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and PPE.
  • Analyze incidents to uncover root causes, deliver actionable insights, and drive future prevention strategies.
  • Partner with project managers and crews to embed safety as a core value in everything we do.
  • Develop robust emergency response plans and oversee drills to ensure readiness.
  • Keep up with safety trends, propose advancements, and champion continuous improvement in safety programs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years in a safety-focused role, ideally in the construction or heavy industry sector.
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
