About the position

The Sales Agronomist position is a key role within a well-established agronomy retailer and services provider located in Western North Dakota. This organization is recognized for its high integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction, providing a range of high-quality agronomy products, including seed, agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and soil sampling services. The new state-of-the-art agronomy facility is set to be operational by Spring 2025, enhancing the company's ability to serve local agricultural growers effectively. The Sales Agronomist will be responsible for selling these products to area agricultural growers, making informed recommendations on crop inputs, and promoting new products through various agronomy events organized by the company. This role requires a strong passion for sales and relationship-building with agricultural growers, as well as a solid understanding of the agronomy landscape in Western North Dakota. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Agronomy or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in making recommendations to agricultural growers regarding specialized programs that utilize agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and seed. The Sales Agronomist will report directly to the Agronomy Manager and will be expected to work extended hours during the busy agronomy season. The position offers a competitive base salary, with the potential to earn up to $80,000 or more, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes relocation assistance if necessary. Responsibilities

• Sell agronomy products such as seed, agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and soil sampling services to area agricultural growers.
• Make informed crop input recommendations to agricultural growers.
• Interact with the general public to promote new products through agronomy events organized by the company.
• Build and maintain relationships with agricultural growers to enhance sales and customer satisfaction.
• Work extended hours during the busy agronomy season.

Requirements

• 2- or 4-year degree in Agronomy or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of agronomy and crops raised in Western North Dakota.
• Understanding of crop inputs used with Western North Dakota crops.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for selling crop inputs.
• 3 or more years of experience making recommendations to agricultural growers on specialized programs utilizing agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and seed.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and solution-finding skills.
• Desire to become embedded and involved in the local community.
• Eligibility to work in the US.
