About the position

The Sales and Operations Manager will oversee the sales and operational functions of an established manufacturer and distributor of OTC and personal care products. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient order processing, inventory management, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients. The manager will also play a key role in training and mentoring staff, as well as participating in strategic planning and business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise account managers to ensure efficient order processing.
  • Train new hires and mentor current employees.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to prioritize daily duties.
  • Use decision-making skills to handle short or out-of-stock situations.
  • Monitor and forecast item sales to maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Maintain the incoming product schedule.
  • Oversee the incoming containers schedule, including customs clearance and FDA holds.
  • Communicate daily with the Korea office regarding inventory schedules and pricing issues.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation.
  • Analyze shipping costs and build relationships with freight companies to reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the President and Vice President to develop new accounts.
  • Participate in the bidding process with large retailers to obtain new business.
  • Act as the point of contact for national accounts, communicating directly with buyers.
  • Assist new customers in developing private label health/beauty items.
  • Help customers obtain documentation to register products in non-U.S. markets.
  • Participate in weekly meetings, sales presentations, and trade shows.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and operations management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and forecast inventory needs.
  • Experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance and FDA regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the OTC and personal care products industry.
  • Knowledge of private label product development.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly in Korean.
