About the position

The Sales Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at Business Wire is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven solutions that facilitate effective decision-making within the organization. This role requires collaboration with senior executives to understand their reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions, ultimately driving value through data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with key stakeholders to design, develop, and implement BI solutions based on reporting and data analysis needs.
• Develop scalable reporting to provide data-driven decision support by creating visually appealing and user-friendly reports and dashboards using BI tools.
• Document instructions and definitions associated with business intelligence tools to ensure a clear understanding of the reports and data.
• Work directly with company leadership and department heads to understand trends and variances to support business needs.
• Identify and lead initiatives to improve, automate, and scale reporting tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to understand key drivers and reporting requirements, and with IT teams to ensure data integrity.

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of prior experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst.
• Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
• Proficiency in BI platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Understanding of reporting and business intelligence best practices.
• Experience with Oracle Financials highly preferred; experience with Salesforce a plus.
• Strong analytical skillset and effectiveness at organizing, interpreting, and reporting data to senior management.
• Exceptional business acumen with focus on Sales and Operations.
• Ability to anticipate problems and solutions while maintaining a long-term view; experience in forecasting models.
• Ability to identify creative solutions to address business needs based on facts and issues presented.
• Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to manage schedules and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
