About the position

The Sales Engineer is responsible for presenting and highlighting defi's software solutions to prospective and current clients. This role involves demonstrating defi's solution capabilities to prospective clients within the context of their lending business through workflow-based presentations and live demos. The Sales Engineer will also configure and customize demo environments, maintain data integrity within the demo environment, and continually update software to build historical trends and reporting. Additionally, the role requires effective collaboration with sales teams and participation in industry trade shows as requested. The Sales Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in proposing and presenting defi's solutions, develop a comprehensive understanding of the solutions, and partner with Product Management to identify market trends and contribute to the product roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully demonstrate defi's solution capabilities to prospective clients via workflow-based presentations and live demos.
  • Able to configure/customize demo environments individually or with a team.
  • Maintain data integrity within demo environment and update software for historical trends and reporting.
  • Present, listen, create architectures, demo solutions, discuss ideas, and solve problems for lenders.
  • Understand and articulate the value proposition of software products to attract, engage, and retain prospects/clients.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and cross-functional representatives in pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Support training initiatives within the Sales Enablement team as requested.
  • Participate in Industry Trade Shows as requested.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in proposing and presenting defi's Solutions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of defi's solutions.
  • Partner with Product Management to identify market trends and contribute to the product roadmap.
  • Document business level requirements for enhancement requests identified during the discovery process.
  • Respond to inbound RFP/RFI inquiries, highlighting how defi's solutions solve complex lender requirements.
  • Work with sales personnel to develop client-specific solutions to complex problems.
  • Measure success by deals won where the Sales Engineer fulfills position requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' industry experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Nice-to-haves

  • MS Office Suite
  • SQL Scripting
  • JavaScript, or exposure to a similar scripting language
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud based solutions and architecture
  • Ability to work with SOAP and REST APIs, specifically utilizing XML and JSON
  • SaaS experience preferred
