In this role as a property and casualty field territory underwriter, you will be instrumental in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while driving profitable growth for our agency partners in your designated territory, which is based in Detroit, Michigan. This position is fully remote for those serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio. The starting pay for this position ranges from $90,000 to $152,000 annually, with a competitive compensation package that considers the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on both company and individual performance. As a field-based underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting by analyzing risks, pricing, negotiating, and making informed decisions on commercial business. You will also engage in marketing by selling and soliciting business across all available business units within your territory to foster strong, diverse agency relationships. Additionally, you will lead the development of your territory by spearheading strategic plan development and executing enterprise-wide growth and profit initiatives, including new agency appointments. Building deep relationships with assigned agencies is crucial to delivering on our vision of being the best company serving independent agents, which requires consistent presence within agency offices. You will provide leadership by partnering with and guiding other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success through effective communication, support, and collaboration with team members. Staying updated on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, and primary competitors is essential for making informed decisions and effectively communicating these insights.
